Do you have experience in local government and information technology (IT)? The Town of Rocky Mount is seeking a detail-oriented Technical Support Analyst. The Town is home to approximately 5,000 residents and consists of approximately 6.9 square miles. Our Town government consists of the departments of Administration, Public Works, Police, Fire, Community Development, Water, and Wastewater.

This position supports daily IT communication functions in maintaining the Town’s IT network, primarily focused on support of Tyler Technologies/Munis applications, users, hardware, and peripherals. Duties of the position include but are not limited to providing knowledgeable, professional technical support for software and hardware issues with efficient response times. Collaborate with Town staff and other end users to diagnose and resolve technical problems.

Repair and optimize desktops, laptops, monitors, iPads, mobile devices, printers, scanners, and peripherals. Schedule and perform installations or upgrades. This position will also test procedures in a control environment first to ensure success, as well as assist with implementation and training of software and hardware solutions to ensure successful integration with the Town network.

Qualified candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree, or 4+ years of directly equivalent experience, or a combination thereof. Experience as it relates to municipal business processes that include Munis/Tyler Tech Financials, Utility Billing, Tax Billing, HR, Payroll, Cashiering, Business Licenses, and Web/Content Management is highly preferred. CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft, or Google certification(s) a plus.

Salary dependent upon qualifications ($62,922+/yr). Excellent fringe benefits include, but not limited to health, dental, and vision paid for by employer for employee only coverage and family coverage only $520 per month. Eligible for a contribution of up to $600 by employer towards a flexible spending account, participant of the Virginia Retirement System, employer-paid life insurance and short-term disability insurance. Begin accruing 6.50 hours every two weeks of paid time off (PTO).

Physical, screenings, and background/credit check are also required and will be successfully completed for the person chosen.
