The Virginia Workers' Compensation Commission is seeking an Insurance Compliance Analyst who enjoys working independently while partnering with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with Virginia insurance statutes and Commission regulations. This position offers the opportunity to become a trusted resource for agency staff, insurance carriers, employers, self-insured entities, and the public while contributing to the Commission's mission of serving the citizens of the Commonwealth.

What You'll Do

As an Insurance Compliance Analyst, you'll play an important role in ensuring insurance compliance throughout the Commonwealth by reviewing regulations, policies, and compliance-related issues, and providing guidance to customers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities include:

* Monitor and evaluate insurance compliance in accordance with the Virginia Workers' Compensation Act and Commission regulations.

* Research and analyze regulations, policies, and insurance documentation.

* Investigate compliance issues and determine appropriate next steps.

* Provide guidance and technical assistance to insurance carriers, employers, attorneys, self-insured entities, and internal Commission staff.

* Review applications, reports, certificates, and other regulatory documents for completeness and compliance.

* Maintain accurate records and case documentation within agency systems.

* Respond to inquiries from customers and stakeholders professionally and efficiently.

* Collaborate with departments across the agency to resolve complex compliance matters.

* Assist with special projects, process improvements, and other duties that support department operations.

VWC Compensation Structure

Virginia Workers' Compensation Commission is an independent agency which allows us to have a more competitive and unique pay structure. This position is a pay grade 6 based on a 14 grade pay structure. Our positions are not classified under DHRM's pay bands.

Telework Structure

* Our agency is currently using a hybrid model for teleworking.

* Our positions at this time are not 100% teleworking.

* All candidates would be expected to report to our Headquarters/Regional Office as requested.

* Telework scheduling is at the discretion of the Manager based on the business needs of the department.

* Upon hire, candidates should expect to have all training and orientation conducted at the Headquarters Office.

Work Location

* This position's central workplace is the Virginia Workers' Compensation Commission's Richmond Headquarters.

* Employees must be able to report to the Richmond office as required by operational needs.

* Candidates who currently reside outside of Virginia will need Commission approval of their work location prior to an offer being finalized.
