Scale House Attendant

Position Summary

This position is responsible for the proper weighing of loaded and emptied turkey live haul trailers, as well as maintaining and distributing all related paperwork and reports. The person in this role works independently in the scale house with limited supervision. The job starts at least 15 minutes before CAS starts running and concludes in the afternoon once all necessary reporting has been completed and distributed to Accounting and Plant personnel.

• Weighs trailers as they are pulled onto scales
• Keep all necessary numbers and calculations, turn in paperwork in a timely manner
• Complete reports used to calculate USDA paperwork at the end of each day
• Other duties as assigned
• Perform daily scale test to ensure proper weights
• Must know the M-Tech system and be familiar with CAT2
• Must have computer skills (Email, Word, and Excel)
• Commit to enhancing the reputation of our products and maintaining consumer confidence through written safety, legal, and quality food safety systems, programs, and practices
• Must be able to work without close supervision
• Must maintain an excellent attendance record
• Must follow all safety procedures and requirements
• Must have strong organizational, communication, written, mathematical, and interpersonal skills

High school diploma or GED preferred

Prior job‑related experience preferred

• Must be proficient in the use of computer technologies
• Must be proficient in MS Office applications including Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Must have the capability to learn Amino

• Lift/Carry up to 10 lbs occasionally
• Stand occasionally, walk occasionally, sit constantly
• Handle/fingering and reach outward frequently
• Reach above shoulder occasionally
• Push/Pull 12‑25 lbs occasionally

Work environment: office climate but also exposed to weather conditions throughout the day.

Vision (near and far). Must be able to hear alarms, horns, etc.

Employee must adhere to all company policies and act as a role model in adherence to policies. Employee must wear an orange safety vest when walking through the lot.
