Logistics Support Specialist I
The Logistics Support Specialist I will control the efficient flow of goods, services and information between the points of origin through scheduling and coordination of support for, inventory control, ordering materials/supplies/repair parts from vendors, shipping and receiving, tracking of maintenance/alteration/repair actions in the organizations tracking systems, and technical administrative support to the MARS Logistics Director. The Specialist I will assist with delivering assets to support work activities across functional areas.

Job-Related
Experience:
Relevant coursework is desired but not required. Specialized training in material management, inventory control, or procurement is desired. Experience operating forklifts or willingness to obtain certification is desired.
At least one (1) year of relevant experience in Logistics, Mechanical Logistics, Procurement, Material Management, or Technical Administrative Support.
Preferred but not required: A general understanding of mechanical parts such as valves, relief valves, gauges, actuators, flanges, etc.

Licenses, etc.:
Valid driver's license is necessary when operating a vehicle while on agency business.
Conditions of Employment:
Knowledge:
Comprehensive knowledge of logistics-related processes and regulations.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Organization and attention to detail
- Proficient with Microsoft Office or related programs.
- SharePoint experience preferred.
Abilities:
- Time management with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Work in a Team based environment.
- Demonstrates high professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.
Physical Demands:
Work is light requiring lifting of computer equipment and involves typical office behaviors. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
