Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Maintenance Worker, Building Maintenance
The Town of Luray is accepting applications for the part-time position of Meter Reading & Maintenance for the Public Works Department
The person employed will be required to perform meter reading duties, meter checks, work orders, service connections, analysis of water and sewer availability, basic maintenance, mowing & trimming, and debris removal in support of the departmental programs and the overall mission. A high school diploma, or GED, is preferred for this position. The successful candidate will be able to safely and effectively operate meter reading equipment, pressure testing equipment, computers/tablets and smart-phone applications, zero-turn mowers, walk-behind mowers, weed eaters, backpack blowers, and other similar power equipment.
This is an hourly position with no benefits. The pay rate offered is based on qualifications. The position will be scheduled for up to 32 hours a week, for an annual maximum total of up to1500 hours. The work schedule is flexible so long as it is pre-approved and meets the needs of the position. A valid Virginia driver's license is required.
The position shall complete other tasks as assigned.
