The Operations Supervisor at McKesson Medical‑Surgical Inc. is responsible for overseeing and optimizing daily operational activities within a designated department or shift to ensure efficient workflow, timely product delivery, and adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements. This role focuses on leading a team of associates to achieve operational excellence and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
Job Responsibilities- Supervise, motivate, and mentor a team of warehouse/distribution associates, including performance management, training, and development.
- Plan, organize, and direct daily operational activities, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to production schedules.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as productivity, accuracy, safety, and quality, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety regulations (OSHA), and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) or other relevant industry standards.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., inventory, transportation, customer service) to ensure seamless operations and resolve issues.
- Conduct regular team meetings, communicate company objectives, and foster a positive and productive work environment.
- Manage employee timekeeping, scheduling, and attendance, ensuring adequate staffing levels to meet operational demands.
- Participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implement preventative measures.
- Prepare and present operational reports to management, highlighting performance, challenges, and proposed solutions.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
- 3–5 years of experience in a supervisory or lead role within a warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environment, preferably within the medical‑surgical or healthcare industry.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team of hourly associates.
- Strong understanding of warehousing and distribution processes, including inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping, and receiving.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data‑driven decisions.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and best practices in workplace safety.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by operational needs.
We are proud to offer a competitive compensation package as part of our Total Rewards program. The pay range for this position is $52,700 – $87,900.
