The IDC Director of Employment and Employer Relations provides for overall management and supervision of the IDC's employment services to achieve program goals and meet applicable regulatory standards. Responsible to ensure positive customer relations to include individuals served, IDC staff, community employers, and referral/funding agents.
Essential Functions
- Provide for the hiring, training, supervision and evaluation of designated staff to provide opportunities for professional development and in order to ensure effective and appropriate delivery of employment services.
- In conjunction with IDC management staff, support individuals receiving center-based employment services to obtain integrated community employment.
- Collaborate with other Agency staff to identify and develop new, expanded, or modified employment services.
- Develop/revise policies and procedures for IDC employment services in accordance with applicable regulatory standards and funding sources.
- Manage the IDC's employment services in accordance with the IDC mission, goals, policies and procedures, budget, and applicable regulatory standards to include, but not limited to: CARF, DARS and DMAS.
- Oversee the public relations activities to ensure community awareness of the IDC’s employment services and to provide opportunities for integrated community employment for persons served.
- Ensure the provision of an effective program evaluation system to include measurable outcomes and a reporting system.
- In conjunction with IDC management staff, provide for effective communication and collaboration with IDC customers to ensure effective and efficient delivery of employment services.
- Knowledge of the principles of management and supervision
- Knowledge of various models of employment services
- Effe ctive oral and written communication, public relations and interpersonal skills
- Ability to organize work in an efficient and timely manner to meet regulatory requirements
Experience/
Education Required:
Bachelor's degree in a human services related field and possess three (3) years of related supervisory/managerial experience in program(s) serving individuals who have intellectual disabilities or other developmental disabilities.
Valid driver's licence with a safe driving record.
