Summary
The Line Technician is a self‑motivated individual capable of working proficiently both independently and as part of a team, without direct supervision. The successful candidate must have a passion for safety and foster effective working relationships built upon trust and respect at all levels of the organization. This role safely and efficiently operates assigned equipment to produce quality product at prescribed standards while minimizing material waste and product loss.
Responsibilities- Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and legibly.
- Set up, operate, changeover and clean equipment, performing quality inspections (OQI, weight checks, compliance with product specs).
- Maintain up‑to‑date clean and inspection standards.
- Update lubrication logs and ensure lubrication standards are met.
- Possess working knowledge of all value stream and support equipment; troubleshoot, make minor adjustments and repairs with basic tools.
- Complete PMs and routine operator maintenance tasks; assist in diagnostics, repairs and rebuilds.
- Monitor equipment for malfunctions and solve minor problems independently.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and maintenance personnel regarding recurring problems.
- Participate in PMs and root‑cause analysis to ensure sustainable corrective actions.
- Apply continuous improvement mindset, participating in SOP/WI creation, preventative maintenance standards, One Point Lessons, and improvement methodology events.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices and 5S methodology; maintain audit‑ready status.
- Participate in Pillar activities (Quality, Focused Improvement, Safety, etc.).
- Actively work toward line efficiency goals, training and coaching employees, and supporting plant production priorities.
- Attend team meetings and comply with all policies and procedures.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel) and basic PC skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Decision‑making ability, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to learn job functions quickly.
- Accuracy in record keeping and instruction following.
- Flexible work schedule, including ability to work overtime and various shifts.
- Various filling, packaging and palletizing machines, hand tools, compactors, cleaning equipment.
- Office equipment: computers, printers, fax, copiers, telephones.
- Industrial power equipment: forklift, scissor lift, pallet jack.
Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, reaching, bending, stooping, lifting up to 60 lbs, using hands and arms. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and focus adjustment. Work environment includes proximity to moving machinery, chemical exposure, noise, heavy lifting; PPE includes safety glasses, hearing protection and sanitary footwear.
