Packaging Machine Operator

Overview

This individual is responsible for packaging productions in appropriate bags with correct sell-by dates, at a rate this is profitable and efficient to meet department and company standards. Individual must setup and operate machine in a safe manner.

• Will adhere to proper manufacturing methods to sustain Food Safety and Quality expectations.
• Will collaborate and resolve issues quickly and efficiently focusing on our company's Core Values.
• Responsible for performing tasks as described and assigned by department Supervisor.
• Responsible for working in a safe manner.
• Responsible for ensuring product specifications are attained.
• Performs job assignment in a cost conscious manner.
• Strives to satisfy the requirements of internal and external customers.
• Responsible for being at workstation on time each workday.
• Works as a team player and communicates with other department members.
• Ability to be flexible as to various job assignments and working conditions.
• Responsible for following Good Manufacturing Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, plant rules and policies.
• Must be able to pick up 16 pounds repetitively.
• Responsible for installing, removing, cleaning and re-taping of seal bars.
• Straightens and aligns each bag on the seal bar.
• Must keep pace with the line.
• Adjusts line speed for various products.
• May be involved in lubrication of 8600.
• Starts and stops the 8600 machine.
• May be involved in set-up and tear-down/put-away.
• Responsible for bringing problems with equipment to Supervisor or Lead Person.
• Responsible for the 8600 machine.
• Responsible to monitor correct and legible sell-by dated product.

• Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
