The Extraction Process Operator is a self-driven individual capable of working independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate must have a passion for safety and foster effective working relationships built on trust and respect. This position safely and efficiently operates assigned equipment to produce quality products at prescribed standards while minimizing material waste and product loss. The operator oversees and participates in all aspects of product production and maintains thorough knowledge of operating systems.

At Danone, manufacturing the best products and supplying them to meet demand is a key driver for our plant teams. We are hiring an Extraction Process Operator based in Mt. Crawford, Virginia.

• Ensure adherence to plant standards (GMP, AIB, FDA, IWS, Quality, Safety, Finance, ISO, CODES, Daily Direction Setting, Driving OE) and participate in and own the implementation of IWS or related integrated work systems and pillars to own your space, performance, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure all paperwork is filled out clearly, legibly, and accurately with all required information.
• Maintain clean and inspection standards, completed in a timely manner.
• Monitor processing systems and the processing room; maintain processing, warehouse, Okara, and tanker loadout areas in a clean and sanitary manner.
• Operate all processing equipment and keep a running inventory of Okara storage trucks.
• Monitor Soymilk parameters via lab testing and adjust the process to maintain proper parameters.
• Assist with the Master Sanitation schedule as dictated by the schedule.
• Clean processing equipment and Soymilk storage tanks and lines as required.
• Transfer Soymilk to the packaging plant and load out/unload tankers and trucks as needed.
• Supply a constant stream of Soybeans to the processing area; monitor wastewater system.
• Communicate effectively with leadership, maintenance, and other departments regarding recurring problems and needs for repair; notify of problems or concerns.
• Contribute to a continuous improvement mindset; participate in creating and documenting SOPs and Work Instructions, preventive maintenance standards, One Point Lessons, and continuous improvement events.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices and 5S to maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area; maintain audit-ready status.
• Participate in pillars such as Quality, Focused Improvement, Safety; assist, train, and coach employees; support plant production needs and priorities.
• Facilitate, attend, and participate in team meetings and programs; follow all safety policies and procedures; comply with all policies and procedures.
• All other duties as assigned.

Work is performed throughout the facility with potential hazards including moving machinery, chemical exposure, noise, and heavy lifting. PPE includes safety glasses, hearing protection, and slip-resistant steel-toe shoes. Standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds may be required.

Ensure adherence to plant standards and procedures (GMP, AIB, FDA, IWS, Quality, Safety, Finance, ISO, HOPE, and Danone Behaviors). Participate in the IWS system and its pillars to own performance and continuous improvement.
