Division OverviewCrown’s Beverage Division manufactures a variety of packaging solutions for soft drinks, craft beers, coffees and teas as well as new energy drinks. Crown Beverage leads the packaging industry with innovative technologies that redefine how the world looks at beverage cans.
LocationCrown is building a brand new manufacturing facility in Martinsville, VA. This state‑of‑the‑art facility will manufacture specialty beverage cans for some of the top consumer product companies.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis position will transport inventory and materials (both raw materials and finished goods) throughout the operation floor and warehouse areas at this high‑speed state‑of‑the‑art metal packaging manufacturing facility.
Qualifications- Ensures all equipment, guards, and safety devices are in place at all times, and follows safe work procedures and safety rules.
- Operates powered industrial trucks to transport inventory and load tractor trailers for shipment.
- Transports inventory in warehouse to correct locations and stages orders for shipment.
- Understands daily production schedule and corresponds with management leads, and coworkers accordingly.
- Performs visual inspection of aluminum cans and packaging quality.
- Monitors schedules, equipment, or processes, and reports problems to supervisor.
- Assists with material movers (line drivers) or other forklift operations when necessary.
- Follows all SOPs (standard operating procedures) and communicates with proper personnel as concerns or issues arise.
- Assists Quality Assurance in locating pallets for sampling.
- Keeps equipment and all areas safe, clean, and organized through proper housekeeping.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- A high school graduate or equivalent with 3+ years of forklift experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Effective record‑keeping skills and the ability to focus on details.
- Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks at the same time.
- Effective and proven communication skills (both written and verbal) working in a team environment.
- Ability to travel domestically for training within the first one or two months with the Company.
- Must be able to work twelve (12) hour shifts, both day and evening.
- Working experience in a high‑speed manufacturing environment.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Might lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- Generally works in a plant environment but will be required to perform some duties inside a typical office setting.
- May be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic.
- May be exposed to a wide range of temperatures.
- Noise level is frequently loud.
