One of our clients is hiring for an entry-level Maintenance Technician to support mechanical maintenance activities, inspections, preventative maintenance, and basic troubleshooting in a heavy industrial plant environment.
About the RoleThis position focuses on assisting with the inspection, repair, and root cause failure analysis of mechanical systems throughout the plant. The role offers hands‑on exposure to preventative maintenance, equipment servicing, and cross‑functional collaboration while working rotating shifts in a 24/7 operation.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance tasks on mechanical systems across the plant
- Assist with preventative maintenance, equipment servicing, and lubrication
- Support inspections, troubleshooting, and basic mechanical repairs
- Work alongside contractor personnel to ensure quality, safety, and productivity
- Participate in formal training, on‑job learning, and cross‑training initiatives
- Communicate with process area teams to share information and resolve issues
- Suggest cost‑saving or productivity‑improving initiatives when appropriate
- Participate in team meetings and continuous improvement efforts
- Work rotating shifts and weekends as assigned
- Support additional plant functions as needed
- Follow all safety, health, and environmental policies and promote a strong safety culture
- High school diploma required
- Technical college education (2 years) in a related field preferred
- 2–4 years of industrial experience as a millwright or mechanical maintenance technician
- Experience with gearbox rebuilding, shaft alignment, and bearing installation preferred
- Familiarity with cement plants or similar heavy industrial environments is a plus
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to comply with PPE and respirator requirements
- Rotating shifts, including nights and weekends
- Hands‑on work in an active industrial plant environment
- Must adhere to all safety protocols and PPE requirements
