JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a full-time Machine Operator experienced or willing to learn our business. This position is responsible for operating or assisting in a direct mail manufacturing environment with a focus on reduction in cost related errors, exceeding client expectation, and driving a safe workplace. Responsibilities and Activities:
- Operates and maintains equipment.
- Performs adjustments on machine per job instructions.
- Meets and exceed production standards and maintaining customer quality requirements.
- Communicates job status and production concerns/issues during shift change.
- Follows all safety policies and procedures.
- Adheres to all current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Troubleshoots problems with minimum delay time.
- Communicates with Management on any problems developing and corrective action.
- Works with urgency when equipment is down to maintain production requirements.
- Continues learning and improving processes to achieve increased production.
- Facilitates teamwork among team members and between shifts.
- Performs additional responsibilities as required to ensure the team's success.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED
- 2 years manufacturing experience (preferred)
- Demonstrated manual dexterity, mechanical aptitude, and troubleshooting skills. Ability to install, maintain, and repair equipment following safety guidelines.
- Knowledge of predictive and productive maintenance systems.
- Able to stand for long periods, bend, and perform repetitive motions.
- Able to move and lift 25 pounds regularly and up to 40 pounds occasionally.
- Able to stand on concrete for 10-12 hours.
- Willingness to work overtime when needed.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow written and verbal instructions. Willingness to learn, develop new skills, and be accountable for quality.
- Effective communicator with good interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Adherence to safety procedures (including lock-out/tag-out and Haz Com) and departmental SOPs.
