Machine Operator II

Hourly, non-exempt

Summary:

Operates injection molding machines, extruder, spin welder, assembles reels and spools, finishes product and packages for shipment.

Essential Functions:

Opening and closing machine doors and reaching to remove parts.

Trimming and sanding of plastic parts using a variety of trimming and cutting tools.

Gluing and assembly of plastic parts using solvents and/or nuts, bolts, and an air wrench.

Inspecting parts for defects and correcting as needed.

Palletizing and/or boxing parts for shipment.

Counting and stacking parts.

Grinding rejects and sprues.

Refilling required supplies for next shift, i.e., solvent, inserts, boxes cardboard.

Keeping work area clean and free of safety hazards.

Computer knowledge

Filling out production paperwork, inventory tags and labels daily.

Working overtime as needed.

Other duties as assigned and required.

Computer knowledge.

Must be able to read, write and count to fill out paperwork correctly.

Attention to detail is important for quality.

While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to step on/off platforms, slide door open/closed by pushing/pulling, reach to remove or pick-up parts, stand, turn and walk from machine or assembly area to pallet while carrying the finished product weighing from
