About the PlantThe Hershey Company Stuarts Draft plant is a non‑union facility producing products such as Reese’s Pieces, Reese Cups, Reese Shapes, Reese Bars, Mr. Goodbar, Mounds, Almond Joy, Nut Rageous, Oh Henry, Fast Break, Whatchamacallit, Baking Chips, and more in a high‑speed complex environment.

Working Hours & ScheduleFlexible to work any shift, weekends, overtime, and holidays.
3rd Shift: 8‑hour shift beginning at 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
Regular schedule: 8‑hour shifts. Mandatory overtime may be weekly, daily, and/or on weekends.
ResponsibilitiesThe Controls Electrician assists maintenance and production personnel in maintaining efficient operation by troubleshooting, repairing, and adjusting equipment to minimize downtime.
- Interpret machine manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings related to assigned equipment.
- Apply principles of electricity, electronics, and control systems.
- Understand and demonstrate the National Electrical Code and NFPA 70‑E.
- Perform PLC and control system troubleshooting and repair.
- Diagnose and repair or replace malfunctioning components such as transformers, circuit breakers, fuses, motors, fixtures, PLCs, motion controllers, and drives.
- Troubleshoot Control Net, Device Net, DH+, Remote I/O, and Ethernet networks.
- Basic knowledge of plant fire and water sprinkler systems and their controls.
- Maintain area, tools, and equipment in a clean, safe, and proper manner.
- Operate material handling equipment as required.
- Complete all mandatory training.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Flexible to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Either a journeyman’s card from a state‑approved apprenticeship program or a minimum of three years of hands‑on electrical work in manufacturing systems maintenance, or equivalent military experience.
- Basic understanding of PCs and basic computer skills.
- Experience in industrial electrical systems.
- Experience with PLCs.
- Experience in process controls and instrumentation.
- Experience with motors and controls (AC and DC).
- Experience with analog and digital devices.
- Experience with schematics and electrical print reading.
- Demonstrated ability to use current probe, multimeter, and oscilloscope.
- Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams.
- Ability to systematically troubleshoot detailed electrical and electronic systems.
- Ability and understanding to work with voltage up to 480 V.
- Ability and knowledge to troubleshoot programmable controllers.
- Understanding of analog circuits (4‑20 mA or 0‑10 V).
- Experience troubleshooting electrical and electronic systems.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and perform tasks such as reaching, stooping, crawling, walking, climbing ladders, and bending.
- Food manufacturing experience.
- Experience with Safe Quality Food (SQF) practices.
- Experience with Continuous Improvement methodology.
- Experience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
- Experience with Autonomous Maintenance (AM).
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform tasks involving operating equipment, confined spaces, standing, reaching, stooping, crawling, walking, climbing ladders, and bending.
Working ConditionsWork performed in a manufacturing facility with required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including safety toe shoes, ear plugs, safety glasses/goggles, bump caps, hair/beard nets, and gloves.
Company‑issued arc‑flash rated uniforms and arc‑rated, voltage‑rated PPE required for designated electrical tasks.
