The Company:

HF Custom (formerly Sam Moore), a division of Hooker Furnishings Corporation is looking for a Furniture Assembler to join their team in our Bedford, VA plant.

Hooker Furnishings Corporation, in its 101st year of business, is a designer, marketer and importer of case goods (wooden and metal furniture), leather furniture and fabric-upholstered furniture for the residential, hospitality and contract markets.

The Position:

We are looking for a dependable candidate who enjoys working independently to join our production team. This individual will use hand tools to complete furniture frames.

Main duties include, but are not limited to:

* Attach swivel bases to completed chair frames

* Trim extra threads off completed chair frames.

* Cycle counting.

* Making boxes and placing completed chair frames into boxes.

* Read and interpret work orders, production drawings, and templates to determine the correct components and assembly sequence.

* Operate pneumatic staplers, drills, and other hand tools safely and effectively.

* Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure all tools are in working condition.

* Meet daily production and quality goals with minimal supervision.

* Collaborate with other team members, including upholstery departments, inspection, and shipping, to ensure smooth workflow and production efficiency.

* Follow all safety protocols and participate in safety training as required

Candidates that will be a great fit will:

* Previous experience in furniture frame assembly or woodworking preferred.

* Ability to read and understand production drawings or blueprints.

* Skilled in the use of hand and pneumatic tools.

* Strong attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

* Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.

Working Conditions

* Manufacturing floor environment with exposure to noise and moving furniture.

* Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
