** Position Summary*
* The CNC Programmer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs to support the manufacturing of high-precision metal components. This role works closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to ensure safe, efficient, and repeatable machining processes that meet quality, cost, and delivery objectives.

** Key Responsibilities*
* + Review engineering drawings and determine optimal manufacturing processes to achieve required tolerances while minimizing production costs.

+ Program 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC machining centers and CNC lathes using CAD/CAM software.

+ Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs (G-code) for multi-axis milling and turning operations.

+ Utilize CAM software to generate toolpaths, simulate machining processes, and validate programs prior to release.

+ Optimize machining methods, setups, tooling strategies, and machine operations to improve efficiency and productivity.

+ Select appropriate cutting tools, fixturing, and machining parameters for a variety of materials, including hardened steels, carbides, stainless steels, and superalloys.

+ Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers and Machinists during new product introductions and process improvement initiatives.

+ Troubleshoot machining issues related to programming, tooling, fixturing, machine performance, or material characteristics.

+ Support production by reducing cycle times, improving tool life, and enhancing part quality.

+ Maintain accurate documentation, including setup sheets, tooling lists, work instructions, and revision-controlled program files.

+ Participate in continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and cost-reduction initiatives.

+ Assist in evaluating and implementing new manufacturing technologies, equipment, and machining processes.

+ Provide technical guidance and support to CNC operators, setup technicians, and machinists.

+ Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and standard operating procedures.

** Required Qualifications*
* + Minimum of 3-5 years of CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment.

+ Strong knowledge of G-code programming and CNC machining principles.

+ Experience programming CNC milling and/or turning machines.

+ Proficiency with CAM software such as NX, Mastercam, or equivalent platforms.

+

Experience with CNC control systems such as Fanuc, Siemens, Haas, Mazak, or similar.

+ Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications.

+ Solid understanding of cutting tools, fixturing methods, and machining processes for precision components.

+ Experience machining advanced or hard materials, including tool steels, stainless steels, carbides, and superalloys.

+ Hands-on experience with CNC machine setup, operation, and troubleshooting.

+ Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

+ Effective written and verbal communication skills.

+ Proficiency with computer applications and manufacturing software systems.

Experience with multi-axis machining and automated manufacturing systems.

+ Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.

+ Experience supporting new product introductions (NPI).

+ Familiarity with tooling optimization and advanced machining strategies.

+ Experience in high-precision or industrial manufacturing environments.

Work Environment Requirements *
* + Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, metalworking fluids, and varying temperatures.

+ Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.

+ Ability to lift materials and tooling in accordance with established workplace safety guidelines.

+ Ability to safely operate equipment and follow all manufacturing safety requirements.
