EHS Manager
Our well-established client is looking for an EHS Manager at their manufacturing facility. This leadership role will collaborate with all levels of the facility to drive EHS excellence and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate would have 5 plus years in a manufacturing setting, preferably the chemical, coatings, plastics or an industrial industry. This is a boots on the ground leadership role driving the EHS culture and programs.
The plant EHS Manager assures the safety of plant personnel through compliance with occupational safety and health regulations and maintains the attitude that all accidents are preventable. This position reports to the plant manager.
Loss Control- Maintains compliance with the Process Safety Management (PSM), conducts Loss Control and Prevention plant inspections, includes reporting deficiencies to the SITE Manager, and follows up through corrective actions.
- Responsible for updates of all SPs as required by PSM.
- Responsible for the initial training and updating of new hires, relating to ISO Certification
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining ISO Certification and following the requirements of ISO 9001:2015
- Responsible for Document and Data Control, following the requirements of ISO 9001:2015
- Responsible for all health, safety, and environmental training of the plant employees as required by Federal, State, and local regulations, and by Corporate EHS training policies
- Maintain up-to-date training files on all plant employees
- Responsible for the timely completion of incident reports and transmissions to corporate EHS
- Maintain files on all plant MOC’s and Process Hazard Analysis reviews
- Track and schedule updates as required
- Assist in maintaining the plant Emergency Response Plan
- Determine root cause and corrective actions for customer quality concerns and non-conforming batches
- Maintains professional procedures, record keeping, and training of QA staff
- Participation in general plant management
- Ensures consistency of batch processing techniques between shifts and employees, relative to safety and quality
- Maintains central files
- Identifies and recommends improvement to the system
- Assist in needed sampling for environmental requirements
$115,000 - $125,000

Technical Qualifications- Education (Preferred or Required):
Degree in relatable field - Certifications:
CSP would be good, not required - 5 plus SPLIT SAFETY / ENVIRONMENTAL / HEALTH
- Chemical manufacturing, own all EHS Training and Compliance for the site, help with PSM, Incident Investigations, leading safety committees, environmental compliance, MOC, RCRA
- Enjoys being on the plant floor, good communication between all levels of employees, strong leader that can help improve processes
