Position Overview
Mechanical Assembly Technician responsible for assembling the Maag family of equipment, with a focus on dryers, TWS systems, and related components. The role requires meeting customer delivery dates and maintaining high quality standards. Work is performed primarily at the Eagle Rock assembly floor, with occasional assignments to the Roanoke facility.
Responsibilities- Assemble dryer rotors and housings using hand tools and power tools by referencing 2‑D assembly drawings.
- Balance rotors on all sizes of dryers using overhead cranes and balancing equipment.
- Build and mount dryer component parts such as agglomerate catchers and pellet diverter valves using hand tools and air tools while referencing 2‑D assembly drawings.
- Perform leak tests on dryer and tank housings using soap water and air.
- Engrave equipment name plates using an engraver, laser marker, or dot peen marker.
- Fill out check sheets to ensure product quality meets expectations.
- Put together piping assemblies using hand tools and power tools.
- Execute other tasks as assigned by the manager.
- Maintain a focus on quality, accident prevention, occupational safety, and environmental safety.
- Support a safe workplace and avoid damages to people, facilities, assets, material, and the environment.
- Perform additional duties related to the scope of the position or arising from company needs.
- Regular standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.
- Lifting items up to 50 pounds and using hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment.
- Use of hand, fingers, hand, and arm for handling, manipulation, and reaching tasks.
- Validity of typical vision abilities including close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Fork‑lift training required; frequent use of lifts and ladders to assemble components above five feet.
- Work in a warehouse setting subject to changing environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, weather).
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical skills are an asset.
- Mechanical background with a general understanding of tools.
- Experience in assembly shops, manufacturing locations, or auto repair/maintenance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized, efficient, and a self‑starter capable of problem‑solving and anticipating issues.
- Strong team player with a work ethic and commitment to success.
- Customer‑focused with willingness to work overtime and weekends as required.
- Ability to attract, develop, and retain talent and collaborate effectively.
- Strategic mindset and strong business acumen with sound judgment.
- Motivates and inspires others while maintaining strong personal awareness and development.
- Monday to Friday.
- Possible weekends or holidays as needed.
