Job Description & How to Apply Below
Door Panel Layup Technician Shift & Pay: 2nd shift, Monday–Friday, 3:00 p.m.–1:30 a.m.; $17–$20 per hour plus a $2 shift differential.
A day in the life
You clock in for second shift and pull the day’s production tickets. You review customer specs and door construction details, then slide and position the cull board onto the lift table. You retrieve glued components from the glue spreader, guide materials with proper hand placement to support the top-end layup builder, and stage skins on cupboards/staging surfaces. With accuracy, you align components to the ticketed specifications, place them onto the skin, and cap with a new skin to complete each door.
Using the foot pedal, you align the lift table with the transfer cart and push the door stack safely onto the cart for the next step in the process.
What you’ll bring
Knowledge:
Reading and interpreting production tickets and quality specifications; understanding proper door construction, door types, core options, and stile/rail/block types.
Skills:
Interpreting tickets, performing visual quality checks, and applying build specifications with precision.
Responsibility:
Work with little to no supervision; place components correctly to match construction requirements; build directly from tickets; verify both quality and counts.
Physical & mental demands
Physical:
Lift up to 20 lbs on Hollow Core and Heritage specials lines and up to 80 lbs on Solid Core and specials lines; frequent bending, twisting, and stooping; excellent dexterity; maintain a fast pace while handling multiple glued parts; strong hand–eye coordination; prolonged standing.
Mental:
Continuous attention to construction details, precise material placement, appropriate glue levels, and safe hand positioning.
Teamwork Partner closely with the feeder and another operator—this is a coordinated team effort.
Working conditions
Mildly controlled environment; anticipate some cold or heat during weather extremes and a light dust environment.
