Job PurposeOur Carrollton facility is looking for a Production Planner/Scheduler for our IMS manufacturing operations. Responsible for coordinating and developing production schedules on a daily or weekly basis to meet goals. Take stock of inventory levels and facilitate providing necessary materials and components.
Responsibilities- Plan, schedule, coordinate and/or monitor products through the complete production cycle based on customer orders and delivery requirements.
- Work from engineering plans and production specifications to establish production schedules, labor loading, and capacity requirements.
- Coordinate production plans to ensure materials are provided according to schedules.
- Make or recommend revisions to planned production schedules as necessary when schedules cannot be met.
- Reschedule rework, unfinished parts, and assemblies, new production releases, and special orders.
- Establish effective communication with various departments as necessary to meet production requirements.
- Analyze the demand requirements vs. the supply commitments and possibilities.
- Perform due diligence by conducting what-if analyses for all demand changes prior to agreements with customers.
- Execute MRP run for changed demand and end item supply requirements.
- Work with Master Production Scheduling to ensure closed-loop feedback process is in place for all potential risks to meeting supply.
- Work with Purchasing to confirm materials availability for all demand requests that require orders to be expedited or placed within lead time.
- Work with Management and Supply Chain for agreement of order quantities and rules, buffer inventories, etc.
- Provide domestic and international materials, and required documentation to logistics for outgoing shipments.
- Communicate with offsite buyers to close invoices upon receipt of materials.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing capabilities and processes.
- Strong background in MRP.
- Understanding of master scheduling and forecasting processes.
- Preferred experience with electronic multi-level builds and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to manage customer relationships.
- Strong computer skills, both MS Office and Google Suite.
- Ability to create and understand reports to support production decisions.
- Desire to promote the success of the organization and production staff.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. Minimum 2 years related experience.
Physical DemandsRequired to sit for extended periods in an office environment; substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers; repetitive motion. Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading. Occasionally exerts up to 10 pounds of force and/or negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push and pull or otherwise move objects.
