Heavy Equipment Operator; Forestry Clearing

As an Equipment Operator your primary responsibility is to complete tasks safely and accurately assigned by the Superintendent/Foreman using construction equipment.

• Maintain a safe workplace and ensure that safety is always the highest priority.
• Participate in all required safety training.
• Perform daily equipment checks to ensure all equipment is properly maintained and is in safe operating condition.
• Follow instructions and complete assigned tasks efficiently and effectively.
• Take actions to avoid potential hazards or obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers or falling objects.
• Have appropriate clothing, work boots and PPE while on the job site.
• Be aware of underground services, such as pipes or wire prior to beginning work and be cautious of their locations throughout the workday.
• Read job plans to ensure a thorough knowledge of the job at hand.
• Check all equipment fluids prior to starting the workday.
• Check fuel supplies of all equipment at the job site on a daily basis – prior to beginning work, and before completing work, to ensure that equipment is ready to operate at any time.

• Understand safety, wear parts, and daily/weekly maintenance.
• Understand all operations of the Chipper.
• Able to chip at production rate given per acre.
• Understand changing of knives daily if needed.

• Grub with KG Blade at a rate of 4-5 acres per day.
• Rough and Final rake at a rate of 4-5 acres per day.
• Blade roads.

• Use bucket thumb, grapple, and shear.
• Grub at a half-acre per day.
• Stack for grinder at a rate of 4-5 acres per day.
• Work in conjunction with grinder operator.
• Shear 4-5 acres per day.

• Understand daily maintenance for teeth.
• Understands how to change teeth.
• Able to cut safely around power lines.
• Able to do terrain assessment.
• Able to get the production rate that is provided.

• Understand safety, wear parts, and daily/weekly maintenance.
• Understand all operations of the grinder.
• Able to grind 4-5 acres per day.
• Understand changing of screens and teeth daily.
• Understand daily housekeeping of grinder.

• Understand all cutting and operations with equipment.
• Understand all safety and housekeeping of equipment.
• Able to do terrain assessment.
• Able to get production rate that is provided.

• Understand safety, wear parts, and daily/weekly maintenance.
• Understand all operations of the Mulcher.
• Able to mulch at production rate given per acre.
• Understand changing of bits and teeth daily if needed.

• Understand all operations and safety of equipment.
• Understand daily maintenance of equipment.
• Understand all housekeeping of equipment.
• Able to get the production rate that is provided.

• Understand all operations of equipment.
• Able to work in conjunction with Feller Buncher.
• Understand all safety and housekeeping of equipment.
• Able to get the production rate that is provided.

• Understand all operations of equipment.
• Able to grade as needed (construction entrances, etc.)
• Understand all safety and housekeeping of equipment.
• Understand maintenance for teeth for the mulcher and check daily.
