Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate press machines according to production specifications and safety procedures
- Load raw materials and monitor machine cycles for optimal operation
- Inspect finished products using precision measuring tools to ensure conformity to specifications
- Make necessary adjustments to press equipment to maintain quality and output standards
- Interpret production orders, part drawings, and technical specifications
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and report mechanical issues as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation for production output, scrap, and downtime
- Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and external regulatory requirements
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures; use PPE as required
- Participate in continuous improvement and Lean initiatives within the department
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1+ year of experience operating press machinery in a manufacturing environment
- Basic understanding of press operations, materials handling, and mechanical adjustments
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and measurement tools
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Good physical condition (standing for long periods, lifting up to 40lbs, repetitive motion)
- Technical or vocational training in manufacturing or mechanical operations
- Familiarity with progressive die and punch press operations
- Forklift certification
- Experience working under Lean Manufacturing or 5S principles
Physical Requirements
- Manufacturing floor environment: exposure to noise, grease, heat, and moving machinery
- May require shift work, weekends, or overtime based on production demands
- PPE required (gloves, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, etc.)
- Ability to lift and carry up to [e.g., 40 lbs]
- Prolonged standing and manual dexterity
- Visual acuity for inspection and reading measurements
