Print Ops Tech II
The primary purpose of this role is to reproduce high-volume, priority copies on a deadline basis. This position involves maintaining print production equipment, operating digital press equipment, and performing various bindery functions with specialized equipment. The role operates under supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and deliver high-volume scheduled and on-demand print projects.
- Receive and analyze print production work orders for size, complexity, and finishing requirements to meet deadlines.
- Consult with leadership on production schedules and make necessary adjustments.
- Electronically access and run print-ready files, utilizing appropriate materials and equipment.
- Provide print layout support using print imposition technology to optimize production.
- Ensure quality standards are met during all stages of work.
- Identify and correct errors, escalating recurring issues to management.
- Validate packaging of finished projects and ensure accuracy of supporting documentation.
- Maintain and perform routine maintenance on printer and bindery equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment problems, completing minor repairs as needed.
- Serve as a mentor and technical resource to team members.
- Operate material handling equipment and other non-bindery equipment.
Required Qualifications
Experience:
Experience operating and maintaining various bindery equipment is required.
Skills
- Working knowledge of printing-related bindery functions.
- Ability to interpret printing specifications and implement verbal directions.
- Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Effective organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks, and set priorities.
- Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Suite, and associated programs.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent.
- Exposure to operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining a digital printer-copier press, large format printer, laminator, and various finishing equipment.
- Familiarity with various grades and weights of paper, vinyl, and other print materials.
- Ability to interpret and understand client printing specifications, requirements, and expectations.
- Software skills including Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign.
Work Environment
The employee will be operating in a warehouse environment with exposure to loud machinery. This position requires the ability to lift 50 pounds.
