Role Description The Sanitation Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Temperanceville, VA. This role oversees all sanitation activities within the facility, including planning and executing daily and long-term cleaning and hygiene programs to meet regulatory and customer standards. The Sanitation Manager leads and schedules sanitation staff, ensures proper use of chemicals and equipment, and monitors compliance with safety and food safety protocols.
Responsibilities include inspecting production and storage areas, documenting sanitation procedures and results, coordinating with quality, production, and maintenance teams, and supporting audits and corrective actions. The role also involves training team members, optimizing sanitation processes for efficiency, and maintaining accurate records and reports.
Qualifications
- Experience in food safety and food science, with a strong understanding of sanitation requirements in food manufacturing environments.
- Base Salary Range $90,000-$110,000
- Knowledge of quality assurance principles and practices relevant to sanitation and hygiene in production facilities.
- Background in food manufacturing operations and processes, including interaction with production, maintenance, and quality teams.
- Ability to plan and deliver effective training programs for sanitation staff and other team members.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including team supervision, scheduling, performance coaching, and conflict resolution.
- Familiarity with regulatory and industry standards (e.g., USDA, FDA, HACCP, GMP) and experience supporting audits and inspections.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and documentation skills, with attention to detail and consistent follow-through.
- Ability to work on-site in Temperanceville, VA, including flexibility for nights, weekends, or holidays as operational needs require.
- Preferred:
Associate or bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience. - Preferred:
Experience with chemical handling, automated sanitation systems, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, 5S).
