Job location:

Duffield, Duffield, VA 24244. The Turret/Brake Operator at VFP INC is responsible for the efficient setup and operation of CNC turret presses and brake presses. This role requires expertise in computer-aided design (CAD) and involves managing the inventory of raw materials, maintaining tools, and ensuring the cleanliness and basic maintenance of equipment. The operator plays a crucial part in the manufacturing process, ensuring precision and quality in production.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC turret presses and brake presses with precision and efficiency.
  • Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) skills to enhance production processes.
  • Issue and manage inventory of raw materials to ensure seamless production flow.
  • Perform tool maintenance to ensure equipment is in optimal working condition.
  • Conduct basic machine maintenance to prevent downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Clean and maintain equipment to uphold safety and quality standards.
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Technical certification in CNC machining or a related field is preferred.
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating CNC turret presses and brake presses.
  • Demonstrated experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software.
  • Experience in tool maintenance and basic machine maintenance.
  • Familiarity with inventory management and issuing raw materials.
Skills and Abilities
  • Proficient in setting up and operating CNC turret presses and brake presses.
  • Strong understanding of CAD software for design and operational purposes.
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and precision in work.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machinery issues.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
