Protein Conversion Lead - 2nd Shift - Edinburg Plant

Individual will be responsible for leading the department and assisting supervisor in daily operations of the Protein Conversion plant.

• Promote safety throughout the plant and department

• Promote department and company goodwill through proactive employee communication and employee involvement.

• Will recommend hiring, promotion, and corrective actions of employees.
• Will train and assist in supervision of employees.
• Will assist in completion of required documents and checks.
• Process product according to operating procedures and quality/quantity expectations.
• Observes equipment operation, notifying appropriate personnel of any malfunctions and/or safety issues/concerns.
• Clean and organized work area.
• Assist others with the skills and knowledge gained from the position.
• Observes all company personnel, quality, safety and food safety policies. Maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you work effectively and cooperatively with customers, clients, co-workers, and leadership teams.
• Recognizes and acts on incidents and safety risks. Consistently practices and enforces safe work habits and drives those habits throughout the organization.
• Participates in process improvement and problem solving utilizing continuous improvement and rational thinking methodologies.
• Follow all company animal welfare guidelines.

• Education:
  
  High School Diploma or GED required. Technical school degree or certificate preferred.

• Experience:
  
  Poultry or food manufacturing experience is a plus.

• Skills:
  
  Ability to multitask and work quickly in a fast-paced environment, have good communication skills, ability to comprehend instructions and apply common sense, have strong attention to detail, and must be a team player.

• Physical requirements:
  
  Ability to work in warm & cold temperatures and lift 50 bs or more.
• Must be able to drive a straight gear truck
• Willing to learn to operate all systems and machinery and make quick decisions
• Willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and overtime as needed
• Must be a team player and have a positive attitude
• Excellent attendance (4 points or less), safety and work record
• Ability to work without direct supervision

• Schedule:
  
  Monday - Friday 2PM - 10:30PM with Weekends and Holidays as needed
