Senior Director/ Director, Corporate Communications
Cvent is seeking a strategic, high-impact Senior Director/ Director, Corporate Communications to lead the development and execution of integrated communications programs that strengthen our brand, elevate our reputation, and connect our business strategy to key audiences.
This role reports directly to the VP of Corporate Marketing. Within Corporate Marketing, this leader's peers are the heads of Brand, Creative, Marketing Events, Event Strategy, and Thought Leadership. The Senior Director/ Director will own PR/media relations and social media, and will bring demonstrated capability in internal communications to support that function as the business requires.
Corporate Marketing functions as a shared service for the entire company. This means the Senior Director/Director will serve as a strategic communications partner to stakeholders across Cvent:
Demand Generation, Product Marketing, Product, Sales, and beyond. The ability to build trusted relationships across functions, understand competing priorities, and deliver communications that serve business-wide goals is as important as craft.
This is an executive-facing role in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. You'll have regular, direct contact with Cvent's senior leadership team, including C-suite executives, and will be expected to translate their vision into compelling, on-brand communications quickly and with precision. Success here requires the ability to build trust with entrepreneurial, engaged leaders who are deeply invested in how Cvent shows up to the world, and to deliver polished, executive-ready work under real-time pressure.
In This Role, You Will:
- Own and execute Cvent's PR strategy across all narratives: company announcements, product news, thought leadership, event coverage, executive visibility, and industry storylines
- Serve as the primary day-to-day manager for Cvent's US and European PR agencies, driving accountability, setting clear priorities, and measuring outcomes. (The VP of Corporate Marketing will provide strategic direction and support.)
- Set the standard for how Cvent shows up in the media: directing agency efforts to build and maintain relationships with key journalists, editors, and contacts across technology, B2B, events, and business press
- Draft and edit press releases, bylines, op-eds, briefing materials, media FAQs, and spokesperson talking points
- Manage Cvent's corporate awards program: identifying opportunities, coordinating submissions, and tracking recognition across key technology, business, and industry publications
- Partner with Demand Generation, Product Marketing, Sales, and Client Services to identify newsworthy moments and translate business milestones into compelling media opportunities
- Track media coverage, report on outcomes, and continuously optimize agency performance and press outreach effectiveness
- Support crisis communications preparation and execution as needed, in partnership with the VP of Corporate Marketing and Legal
- Serve as the primary Corporate Communications point of contact for Cvent's India-based PR team, providing regular direction, messaging guidance, and quality oversight for APAC and MEA coverage
- Lead Cvent's corporate social media strategy and editorial calendar across Linked In, X, and other key channels, ensuring brand voice consistency and alignment with campaign and content priorities
- Manage and develop the social team, setting quality standards and building a culture of creativity, experimentation, and measurement
- Drive executive social visibility for Cvent's senior leadership team, developing content strategies and post-level execution that build thought leadership and reflect each leader's authentic voice
- Partner with Brand, Creative, Product Marketing, and Demand Generation to ensure social output reflects Cvent's brand identity and supports campaign goals across all formats
- Monitor social performance, report on engagement and share of voice, and make data-informed decisions to continuously improve
- Build and maintain an employee advocacy program that amplifies Cvent's brand through authentic colleague participation
- Bring demonstrated experience in internal communications strategy and execution, with the ability to stand up or support this function as Cvent's needs evolve
- Partner with HR, Leadership, and Marketing to shape employee communications tied to major company initiatives, transformation efforts, and cultural moments
- Develop templates, playbooks, and editorial frameworks that enable consistent, on-brand internal messaging at scale
- Own and maintain Cvent's library of corporate statistics, key proof points, and boilerplate messaging, ensuring all materials reflect current, approved figures and positioning
