Accounting Manager

Role Overview

A mission-focused technology organization is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager / GL Lead to own core accounting operations and lead the monthly close. This role is responsible for general ledger integrity, financial reporting accuracy, and team leadership in a regulated, fast-paced environment.

This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who wants real ownership—not just oversight—of accounting operations.

• Own daily general ledger activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and balance sheet accuracy
• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close cycles and related reporting deliverables
• Ensure financial reporting aligns with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting standards
• Partner with cross-functional teams to identify, investigate, and resolve accounting-impacting issues
• Support audits, financial statement preparation, and coordination with external service providers
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting documentation
• Identify process improvement opportunities and drive scalable, repeatable accounting practices
• Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff while serving as a subject matter expert to leadership

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
• (Substantial equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree)
• Proven ownership of general ledger and close processes
• Hands-on experience with Deltek Costpoint
• Background in a government contracting environment strongly preferred
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
• CPA preferred but not required
