The Auditor assists the Virginia Racing Commission's Audit Division with risk-based audit engagements, compliance reviews, and regulatory inspections of Commission operations and regulated entities. Duties include performing fieldwork, reviewing records, conducting testing, interviewing personnel, and preparing work papers in accordance with professional auditing standards. The position also involves drafting audit and inspection reports, monitoring corrective actions, and conducting research supporting the Division's work.
Keyqualifications
- Knowledge of audit principles, internal controls, and compliance review methodologies
- Ability to perform fieldwork, testing, and documentation in accordance with professional auditing standards
- Strong organizational skills for planning and executing audit and inspection tasks under supervision
- Demonstrated experience in problem-solving and attention to detail to accurately identify and document findings
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to prepare clear work papers and reports
- Considerable auditing experience
