Job Description:

Eastern Shore Community College is a member of the Virginia Community College System. The College serves the residents of Accomack County and Northampton County as a two-year institution of higher learning. Operating under policies established by the State Board for Community Colleges and the Eastern Shore Community College Board, the college is financed primarily with state funds, supplemented by contributions from the two counties and the Eastern Shore Community College Foundation.

The Business Office Liaison will provide support for students and employees of ESCC in the ESCC Business Office. This position is responsible for working with SSC to process payrolls for college personnel along with related reconciliation and reporting activities and working with SSC to update and maintain all employee information in the Commonwealth of Virginia payroll system. This position also serves as cashier for receiving and posting all revenues and compiling daily cash settlement reports with preparation of corresponding deposits.

Other fiscal activities performed include posting federal receipts and disbursements to automated accounting system; working with TCC on preparation of financial aid reconciliation and disbursement of awards; accounts receivable billings for tuition and fees; daily printing and distribution of various reports from SIS and AIS, and records management.

Minimum Qualifications:

Working knowledge of accounting principles and practices, demonstrated ability to perform detailed work with numerical data, ability to interpret and apply rules and regulations, skills in computer software, including MS Office products, excellent public relations skills, ability to adapt to a variety of work requirements with time restrictions, ability to prioritize and work independently. Effective oral and written communication skills.

Additional Considerations:

Experience in an office environment required. Experience with the use of Microsoft Office products.
