Performs difficult technical and responsible administrative work involving a variety of assignments in the Commissioner of the Revenue's office administration. Does related work as required. Work is performed under general supervision. Limited supervision may be exercised over subordinate clerical personnel.
The hiring salary for this position is $21.63/hour to $29.75/hour based on experience.
The full salary range for this position is $21.63/hour to $37.86/hour to provide opportunity for growth and development.
Assisting in the administration of the Commissioner of the Revenue's programs and services; preparing, maintaining and coordinating files and databases; researching and preparing technical data; preparing and maintaining other files and records.
Responsibilities- Coordinates and implements specialized and technical programs or activities;
- Assists with the technical analysis of data;
- Utilizes appropriate software to analyze, track and report data;
- Maintains real estate databases;
- Works independently in determining and interpreting state and local tax codes and ensuring compliance;
- Prepares bills, summaries, and exonerations for the Treasurer's office;
- Assists taxpayers, real estate professionals, and lawyers with real estate related questions;
- Tracks legislation that may affect the department and division;
- Assists with the design of workflow for divisions in the COR office;
- Prepares documents based on data obtained from records and other sources and processes them in accordance with prescribed procedures;
- Analyzes legal, personal, and financial data to make informed decisions;
- Establishes and maintains systems to ensure accountability and controls;
- Composes correspondence and prepares reports independently or from oral instructions;
- Performs related tasks as required.
- General knowledge of state and local tax law as it relates to real estate;
- Knowledge of governmental organization and administration;
- General knowledge of employee programs and activities;
- Skill in the use of personal computer equipment and programs with an emphasis on Word and Excel;
- Ability to present ideas effectively, both orally and in writing;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with County officials, supervisors, and employees and taxpayers;
- Ability to conduct studies and to prepare related reports and recommendations.
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school, 1-3 years’ experience in related work area, business, or related field.
