In partnership with people with disabilities and their families, the Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services assists individuals with disabilities to make informed choices that will maximize their employment through coordinated service delivery. Through training and technical assistance, the DRS-Admin Team enhances the agency's capacity to develop, implement, and support integrated employment initiatives and improve competitive employment outcomes for persons with disabilities.
We are seeking a Workforce Programs Office Specialist to provide administrative, contract, fiscal and program support to major programs within the Division of Rehabilitative Services central office, specifically within Workforce Programs. Provides program and logistical support, project coordination, administrative, logistical, contracting and accounting related duties for programs in the DRS-Admin unit. Runs necessary reports and follows up with sub‑grantees or contractors as needed to ensure program compliance.
Other duties and/or special projects as assigned.
Minimum QualificationsKnowledge/
Experience:
- Experience commensurate with the position duties or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Experience providing high-quality customer service to internal and external groups.
- Advanced knowledge of all programs within MS Office, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of state fiscal procedures and state laws/regulations/guidelines for purchasing goods and services.
- Knowledge of Vocational Rehabilitation Field Services administrative procedures.
- Knowledge of automated forms with the ability to prepare program reports and financial reports.
- Knowledge of project management/project tracking systems and the ability to organize tasks and project deliverables within those systems
- Excellent administrative, organizational, customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work and make decisions independently and to function effectively as part of a team.
- Proficient in the use of computers.
- Extensive knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft software programs.
- This position has been designated a sensitive position under Va. Code § 2.2 1201.1.
- A fingerprint based criminal history check will be required of the finalist.
