Student Support Specialist (Admin and Office Spec II) - Fauquier Campus Role Overview
This role supports the strategic operations of the student services team in several capacities. It supports Testing Services by administering and proctoring exams across campus locations, providing high‑quality customer service to test candidates and ensuring an environment conducive to course and high‑stakes certification and licensure exam completion. The position also supports other student services initiatives including event support and administrative support for Food Pantry operations and Career Services.
SpecialAssignments
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
- May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and work with minimum supervision in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong computer hardware, software, internet, and troubleshooting skills.
- High level organizational skills, problem‑solving abilities, and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills, including ability to understand and interpret written and oral instructions effectively and professionally.
- Possess a high level of integrity and personal responsibility.
- Uphold high levels of professionalism and student/exam candidate confidentiality at all times.
- Experience in providing administrative support.
- Experience in test proctoring.
- Experience working with diverse populations.
- Experience providing student or community services.
- Travel as per any required duties of the position, such as to sites/campuses and for training.
- Ability to cover assignments throughout the college service region as necessary for the job.
The hourly pay range for this position is $17.84‑$24.08, with the actual starting hourly rate commensurate with education, credentials, and/or experience. This is a part‑time position (maximum 29 hours per week) and is not eligible for health or leave benefits. The position may offer educational benefits through our professional development and educational assistance policies.
