General InformationJMU’s School of Professional & Continuing Education (SPCE) collaborates with individuals, businesses, and communities through transformative educational programs and experiences. SPCE offers a range of programs, including youth camps, adult degree completion, professional and workforce development, and lifelong learning, as well as partners with academic units across JMU to support a number of online or off‑campus degree and certificate programs.
SPCE seeks a Fiscal Support Coordinator to support internal staff, external partners, and to directly assist our Financial & Operations Manager. This position will perform administrative tasks related to all SPCE programming including fiscal processes, departmental reporting, hiring actions, and budget updates.
Duties and Responsibilities- Entering and tracking of hiring actions (ePARs, paper PARs, etc.) for all our credit bearing programs
- Collecting and organizing paperwork backup for all transactions included in our Monthly Reconciliation reporting
- Running queries and reports from People Soft systems (HR Management, Finance, Student Administration)
- Updating existing program budgets with query and report data
- Drafting and submitting various funds transfer documents
- Processing departmental purchases, payments, and funds transfers
- Identifying and tracking program level expenses
- Cross‑training and providing backup for other operations staff as needed
- Documenting departmental processes and policies
- Working with Finance & Operations Manager to continually improve internal processes
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, and administrative forms
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Outlook and Excel
- Proficiency with mathematics
- Attention to detail and ability to organize multiple sources of information
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and visual)
