UVA Health Children’s is looking for an Access Associate Senior to support patient intake, registration, scheduling, and financial clearance across multiple pediatric and women’s outpatient locations.

The starting base rate for this role is $19.50/hour and includes a $3,500 sign-on bonus, requiring a 2-year commitment to UVA Health.

Eligible for full remote after 6 months of training. This role is a call center function that supports multiple clinical settings.

In this high‑impact position, you will serve as a trusted access expert across multiple clinical settings, supporting patient intake, registration, scheduling, and financial clearance functions. Your ability to adapt quickly, maintain accuracy, and provide outstanding service will directly influence both patient experience and operational efficiency.

This role demands strong judgment, adaptability, and a patient‑centered mindset, as you will be stepping into diverse workflows and cross‑functioning teams while upholding UVA Health’s high standards of excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Perform patient registration, insurance verification, and demographic updates with a high level of accuracy
  • Coordinate and manage appointment scheduling across a variety of specialty and primary care services
  • Communicate directly with patients and families, providing clear guidance on processes, expectations, and next steps
  • Collaborate with clinical teams, providers, and fellow access staff to resolve complex scheduling or registration challenges
  • Maintain composure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while prioritizing both patient care and compliance standards
Minimum Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent required; associate’s degree preferred
  • Two years of relevant experience required (or access associate fully cross‑trained to cover multiple specialties)
  • No licensing required
  • Proficient computer and communication skills; detail oriented
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods and use computer and mouse
