Job Duties- Provides administrative and programmatic support to the Health Services Unit (HSU) in support of the unit and agency mission.
- Updates and maintains records, files, and automated databases.
- Maintains institutional health records in compliance with Institutional Operating Procedures and medical protocols.
- Assists with scheduling health and therapy sessions and/or programs for inmates.
- Prepares copies of relevant documentation, maintains files, emails documentation, and answers telephone calls for the Medical Unit.
- Assignments to other duties or locations may be necessary to meet the clinical and administrative needs of the Department.
- Demonstrated ability to research and analyze data in order to reach logical conclusions and prepare routine reports
- Experience providing customer service and administrative support to include word processing, filing, and other related duties in a professional office setting
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret legal documents and release/discharge documents
- Administrative experience in a healthcare, criminal justice, court, or law office setting
- Previous clerical experience in a medical environment
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and experience with medical records
- Demonstrated ability to set up and maintain automated and manual filing systems
