Job Duties

Primarily performs routine fiscal work within prescribed guidelines; interpretation and discretion are limited. Characteristic duties: prepares and processes vouchers, IATs, bills, activity reports and encounter forms. Keys and batches financial data and invoices for payment, balances financial reports, verifies coding, provides information to vendors for payment, writes and issues checks, reconciles accounts and purchase orders with vouchers, posts financial transactions. Follows up on billing denials, researches, corrects and resubmits.

May perform related non-fiscal administrative tasks

Please note:

Wage employees are limited to working no more than 29 hours per week on average over the course of 12 months. Wage employees do not have access to state benefits.

The Prince William Health District is a growing, diverse, and dynamic community in Northern Virginia located approximately 30 miles from Washington, D.C.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Ability to follow established policies and procedures and apply knowledge of policies and procedures in day-to-day work
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, purchasing systems and related procedures
  • Knowledge of basic computer applications and various database and software programs
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
