Job Duties
Position provides mail services for inmate and staff in compliance with departmental policies and US Postal Service requirements. Provides daily supervision of Postal Assistants, monitors daily issuance of all employee and offender mail ensuring policies, procedures, safety and sanitation standards are adhered to. Screens incoming publications for inmate access by established timelines and in compliance with policy and procedure.
Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated skill in the use of Microsoft Office to include Word and Excel to accomplish office support requirements. Ability to organize work, meet deadlines and complete tasks in a timely manner. Organizational skills to maintain the safe, sanitary and secure operation of the mail room. Working knowledge of postal and shipping regulations and mail sorting systems. Demonstrated ability to lift mail bags and packages.
Demonstrated ability to maintain mail records. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Additional Considerations
Demonstrated skill in the use of Microsoft Office to include Word & Excel.
