  • The Investigations team will have a presence in the operation. The Investigator will provide serve as a liaison with the larger Safety organization for other safety needs.
  • Partner with and support operating departments who have responsibility over the quality of employee health and ground safety compliance within assigned location, support and guide implementation of safety initiatives focused on safety and compliance within the Airport and Tech Ops operation.
  • The Sr. Specialist, Safety Business Partner interacts with frontline and leadership operational personnel, union safety representatives, senior managers, executive leadership, and department heads within the assigned location.
What you'll do

  • Ensure your presence in the operation as a trusted business partner in Safety.
  • Partner with operating departments on the implementation of policies, procedures and programs designed to elicit compliance with corporate and governmental safety standards and regulations.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, support, training, communications, and other resources to achieve departmental and corporate goals related to ground and employee safety.
  • Partners with other departments as well as union representatives to address safety concerns and establish processes that result in the continuous improvement of safety.
  • Advises company representatives and executive management of the status of significant safety issues
  • Conduct learning investigations for accidents, incidents, instances of non-compliances and near-misses, and provide insights into the root causes and contributing factors, as well as recommendations to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Act as a trusted partner who is skilled in interviewing to encourage team members to be forthcoming about what happened and why and to partner in solutions and improvements.
  • Prepares consolidated reports when required by company management, the FAA, and/or interested parties.
  • Ensures investigation reports are meaningful, technically sound, action orientated and are completed in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with Operational Leaders using investigation results to highlight areas of safety concern within the work environment.
  • Develop and present high impact presentations for leadership.
  • Performs any additional duties and responsibilities, as assigned, in order to achieve departmental and company safety objectives.
  • Travel required – occasionally (up to 50% of the time for Regional SBP Roles)
All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications
- Education & Prior Job Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Safety, engineering, aviation, or equivalent work experience/training
  • 3 years’ experience in the airline industry with at least 2 years safety program management
Preferred Qualifications
- Education & Prior Job Experience
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable regulations and company policies and procedures
  • Experience interfacing with FAA, government agencies, labor and inter-department communications
  • Aircraft accident and employee injury investigation training and experience
  • Training applicable to requirements of position
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to effectively interact with all levels of employees
