Employment Type:

Full‑Time. The pay range for this role is $73,395 — $106,016 annually. The pay range reflects a general hiring range for the area; the specific rate will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skill level, abilities, and education, and may vary depending on location and schedule.

Summary of Job Purpose and Function

In partnership with the chief of staff, the Practice Manager plays a vital role in the hospital, managing day‑to‑day operations so the medical team can devote their time to delivering the highest quality veterinary care. Your medical practice management skills will be put to use to drive business results, and your people leadership skills will come into play as you develop associates and foster an engaging team environment.

Along with a team of knowledgeable pet health care experts, you’ll ensure that clients and patients have a positive experience when they visit the hospital. Through a professional relationship with other stakeholders, including the veterinary medical team, field leadership, our corporate headquarters and Pet Smart® associates (if applicable), you’ll help optimize the growth of both businesses.

Responsibilities
  • Interview, hire and develop associates.
  • Evaluate the hospital’s processes, progress and productivity.
  • Train associates on how to educate clients about Banfield’s Optimum Wellness Plans®, preventive care, pet health needs and hospital services.
  • Educate associates on Banfield guidelines and practices.
  • Budget and plan for the hospital.
  • Support daily operations and staff.
  • Schedule associates, coordinate time off and manage continuing education needs.
  • Support overall mission of delivering high quality veterinary care.
Required Education and Licenses

Bachelor’s degree in business or a related discipline preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Required Experience

Three years of related experience, including direct supervisory experience (hiring, associate development, etc.).
