IMSolutions is seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist to support a future opportunity with a federal agency anticipated to begin in September 2026
.
Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: Remote/Hybrid as authorized by the Government and Companyas requested by the government.
The Senior Procurement Specialist will provide advanced acquisition and procurement expertise across one or more phases of the federal acquisition lifecycle. This position will support operational and consulting engagements involving procurement, source selection, acquisition management, business process improvement, policy development, financial analysis, training, project management, and acquisition systems implementation.
The Senior Procurement Specialist will be responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and executing all phases of procurement projects while providing strategic guidance to government stakeholders. The successful candidate will possess extensive knowledge of federal acquisition regulations, contracting principles, procurement strategies, and agency-specific missions and priorities. This position requires the ability to independently manage complex acquisition initiatives and provide expert recommendations that support mission-critical objectives.
Thesefunctions include:
- Lead and support operational and consulting engagements across the federal acquisition lifecycle.
- Plan, schedule, coordinate, and execute all phases of procurement and acquisition projects.
- Develop acquisition strategies and procurement approaches that align with agency requirements and mission objectives.
- Provide expertise in purchasing, procurement, source selection, and contract management activities.
- Advise government personnel on acquisition planning, procurement best practices, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Support and lead source selection activities, including evaluation planning, proposal reviews, and documentation management.
- Conduct acquisition research and analyses to support procurement decisions and strategic initiatives.
- Develop, review, and implement acquisition policies, procedures, and guidance.
- Perform financial analyses related to procurement activities, contract execution, and program performance.
- Support business process improvement initiatives designed to enhance acquisition effectiveness and efficiency.
- Analyze, evaluate, and assist with the implementation of acquisition and contract management systems.
- Provide expertise regarding applicable federal acquisition statutes, regulations, policies, and guidance.
- Support federal project and program management efforts related to acquisition and procurement functions.
- Develop and deliver acquisition-related training and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Prepare acquisition plans, procurement strategies, business case analyses, determinations and findings, and other acquisition documentation.
- Coordinate with program offices, contracting officers, legal counsel, financial personnel, and technical teams throughout the procurement process.
- Conduct market research and assess acquisition alternatives for complex procurement requirements.
- Review contractor proposals, cost information, and procurement documentation for completeness and compliance.
- Identify procurement risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Prepare executive briefings, reports, presentations, white papers, and recommendations for senior leadership.
- Facilitate meetings, program reviews, acquisition reviews, and stakeholder engagements.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior staff and acquisition team members.
- Develop innovative acquisition solutions that improve procurement performance, compliance, and mission outcomes.
- Support audit activities, compliance reviews, and acquisition assessments.
- Perform additional acquisition and procurement-related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Acquisition Management, Contract Management, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Accounting, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ten (10) to fifteen (15) years of progressively responsible experience in federal procurement, acquisition, contracting, or acquisition program management.
- Extensive experience supporting federal government procurement and acquisition programs.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex acquisition and procurement initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of federal acquisition regulations, policies, and procurement best practices.
- Experience providing acquisition consulting, advisory, or strategic support services.
- Proven ability to independently manage multiple high-priority projects.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication abilities.
- Expert knowledge of federal acquisition and procurement processes.
- Strong acquisition planning and procurement strategy development capabilities.
