The Junior Counselor is responsible for assisting with daily activities, special events, and program, while supervising and caring for children with guidance from the supervisory staff for the Spring/Summer Break Programs. Camps are located in Carrollton and Windsor.
Responsibilities- Supervises participants and ensures their safety;
- Applies disciplinary actions in accordance with the program guidelines;
- Organizes and distributes equipment and materials needed for the operation of the program;
- Notes and completes incident, accident, and participant discipline reports;
- Attends mandatory trainings for licenses and certifications;
- Answers parent questions and concerns;
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Observe all approved safety and health policies and procedures pertaining to his/her work activities and perform all work tasks in a safe and healthy manner in accordance with County policy.
The work is medium work:
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Requires the use of fingers, balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, grasping, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, stooping, talking, visual acuity, and walking.
Requires at least six (6) months of experience in a child related field and must be at least sixteen (16) years of age.
Licenses or CertificationsRequired CPR and Bloodborne Pathogen certifications.
Program Hours and DatesProgram
Hours:
7:00 am to 6:00pm, Monday through Friday. Camp is the week of April 6, 2026
- April 10, 2026.
Dates of Employment:
Mandatory Spring Break/Summer Survival Workshop TBD. Staff training the week before camp starts. Camp cleanout dates the following Monday and Tuesday after camp ends.
