We're looking for energetic, enthusiastic team players to help bring the magic of summer to life! This is a part‑time, temporary field position supporting the Summer Sneakers Program – a high‑energy, community‑based initiative designed to engage kids in fun, active, and meaningful experiences. As a vital member of our team, you’ll assist with hands‑on activities, help coordinate daily programs, and play a key role in creating an unforgettable summer for the children we serve.
The program runs from June 1st to July 31st 2026, Monday through Friday, 7:00 am until 6:00 pm. If you’re ready to get outside, get involved, and make a difference, we want to hear from you!
- Assist with the planning and implementation of a 9‑week summer recreation program for up to 100 children in grades K‑5.
- Leads programs, activities or special events with children participating in the program. Program areas may include sports, games, arts & crafts, nature, music, drama.
- Assist with inventory control, management, and care of recreation supplies and equipment.
- Must be available to work during the hours of 7:00 am‑6:00 pm Monday – Friday on shift work.
Knowledge of community youth recreation programming preferred. Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions required. Ability to follow rules and program planning. Must have the ability to lead activities in various program areas. Must have the ability to work effectively with diverse groups and to assist in maintaining discipline and/or control. Must be able to meet and deal tactfully with the public and parents.
Education,Training, and Experience
High school diploma/GED preferred. Experience working with children in a recreation setting desired. CPR/First Aid certification required. Tasks involve the ability to exert moderate, though not constant, physical effort, typically involving some combination of walking, moving rapidly, throwing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and while playing and interacting with children.
