Metric is currently partnering with a well-established civil site work contractor in Northern Virginia to hire a Junior Estimator
. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career estimator looking to grow within a reputable, stable organization that delivers high-quality site development projects across the region.
As a Junior Estimator, you’ll support the estimating team on a variety of civil site work projects
, gaining exposure to both public and private work. You’ll work closely with senior estimators, project managers, and operations to develop accurate, competitive bids.
- Assist with quantity takeoffs for site work, earthwork, utilities, and paving
- Review plans, specifications, and bid documents
- Help prepare estimates, budgets, and bid proposals
- Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes
- Support bid day activities and post-bid reviews
- Maintain organized estimating files and cost databases
- 1–3 years of experience in estimating or a related role within civil/site work construction
- Exposure to site development, utilities, earthwork, or paving preferred
- Familiarity with estimating software (HCSS, Agtek, Bid2
Win, Bluebeam, or similar is a plus) - Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
