We are currently looking for a Roller Operator to join our team at our Wagman Heavy Civil Team. Reporting to direct field supervision, the Equipment Operator is responsible for proficiently and safely operating all required equipment. He or She should be able to work independently as well as be able to communicate effectively. This position works along with the entire Project Team to support the completion of assigned construction projects and ensures all plans move forward to meet projected deadlines in a safe manner.

This is a safety sensitive position requiring work on construction sites with various safety hazards inherent in heavy construction.

This position is subject to drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of one (1) year of Heavy Highway experience, operating rollers proficiently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Safely operate various types of rollers on the jobsite
  • Perform preventative maintenance and pre operation inspections on the roller
  • Inspect equipment daily for defective parts and records date and malfunction in a log.
  • Move, pick up and grade material—including earth and stone and other material.
  • Assist with laborer duties as needed
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTION
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds from ground level to waist level.
  • Must be able to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation tasks with both hands
  • Must be able to climb, bend and squat.
  • Must be able to sit for up to 3-4 hours at a time.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in wet, muddy, cold, hot and humid weather.
  • Position requires acceptable corrected vision (in both eyes) and acceptable corrected hearing.
  • Must have the ability to work on uneven surfaces.
