Civil Foreman

The Civil Foreman leads a team responsible for the installation of civil structures and earthwork activities while ensuring safety and quality on utility‑scale solar or BESS sites. The position is hands‑on in the field and requires travel and on‑site presence.

• Participate in daily safety meetings with subcontractors and clients.
• Participate in daily toolbox talks and/or Construction Manager’s morning meeting.
• Follow detailed SOPs and comply with all company and industry standards and regulations.
• Maintain good housekeeping on the site.
• Complete Safety Observation Cards (minimum 1 per day).
• Verify all material deliveries, including counts and signing Material Transfer Forms (MTFs).
• Follow proper safety procedures when using heavy and support equipment.
• Maintain a positive company image with employees and customers.
• Maintain and care for all company‑issued tools and equipment.

• Oversee field‑level operators and laborers.
• Lead and manage the team.
• Maintain and submit accurate files, logs, pictures, and reports.
• Provide a 1‑week look‑ahead for planning with the superintendent.
• Monitor safety, quality, and efficiency of daily scheduled work.
• Ensure crews have required resources and materials.
• Coordinate permits (hot work, dig permits, etc.).
• Mentor junior crew members.
• Provide material requests to the Civil Superintendent.
• Ensure work meets environmental standards, specifications, and plan‑set requirements.

• Minimum 8 years of civil construction experience (preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of civil supervision experience (preferred).
• Solar experience highly preferred.
• Journeyman operator (license or verified experience).
• OSHA 30 certification.
• Ability to read construction drawings, diagrams, and develop implementation plans.
• Knowledge of installing basins, mass grading, excavation, stabilizing acreage, and maintaining site flow.
• Experience completing JSAs and work permits.
• Basic math and reading comprehension skills.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, email).
• Valid driver’s license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrated competence to perform required work.

• Work performed in both office and field environments.
• Must be able to sit, stand, bend, twist, and lift up to 50 lb.
• Physical labor required.
• Travel and overnight stays required.
