Quantity Surveyor – Main Contractor (Major Residential New Build) – East London/Essex

O’Neill and Brennan are currently working with a leading main contractor who have secured a major residential development in London. The project is a £100m RC Frame apartment scheme comprising a large-scale multi-storey residential development and forms part of a wider regeneration programme within the area.
They are seeking to hire an experienced Quantity Surveyor who can take commercial responsibility for a significant portion of the project and manage the procurement, delivery and final accounting of key subcontract packages throughout the construction lifecycle.
The client is open to considering individuals from either a strong main contracting background or those currently working for a residential developer, provided they have experience delivering large-scale residential schemes and are comfortable managing substantial package values.
You will join an established commercial team on a flagship development, working alongside experienced Commercial Managers and Senior Surveyors, offering excellent long-term progression opportunities within a highly successful contractor.

- Start: ASAP but can wait for the right person
- Type:

- Leading the procurement of subcontract packages across the project
- Commercial management of approximately 50% of the subcontract packages on site
- Preparing, negotiating and agreeing final accounts with subcontractors
- Producing cost reports, forecasts and monthly commercial reporting
- Managing variations, change control and commercial risk across allocated packages
- Working closely with site, design and operational teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within either a main contractor or residential developer environment
- Previous experience delivering large-scale residential developments
- Strong understanding of subcontract procurement and package management
- Experience preparing and agreeing final accounts
- Knowledge of JCT forms of contract and commercial reporting processes
- Able and willing to commute to London and site locations as required
