Commercial Construction Estimator/Project Manager (Experience in construction required)

Description: The primary responsibility of the Metal Stud/Drywall/Acoustical (Drop) Ceiling Estimator/Project Manager is to successfully take off all items covered by the scope and specifications, as well as to generate detailed and complete proposals. The role requires accurate take-offs of materials and hardware, use of estimating software, and clear communication of inclusions and exclusions to co‑workers and General Contractors.

Responsibilities:

• Perform thorough and accurate take‑off of all items, including materials and hardware.
• Use estimating software to produce take‑offs when necessary.
• Communicate inclusions/exclusions to co‑workers and General Contractors.
• Quantify the number of hours needed to complete the scope of work.
• Determine installation schemes to establish crew size and duration.
• Evaluate all contract documents—bid drawings, specifications, general conditions, and any necessary project site information.
• Determine scope of work and generate questions to qualify vague scope.
• Prepare a complete, well‑organized, and detailed estimate including job‑specific excludes.
• Communicate with general contractors and clients to determine exact needs and scope of work.
• Obtain and qualify pricing from vendors to complete the assigned scope of work.
• Prepare detailed budgets.
• Work with other Estimating team members to prepare complete scope packages for clients.
• Multi‑task in a deadline‑oriented environment while maintaining accuracy.
• Maintain a professional, service‑oriented demeanor with excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Update rates, material costs, labor, and construction equipment databases to keep them current.
• Participate in pre‑construction phases to help sell and finalize project budgeting, including development of alternatives, constructability evaluations, and value engineering.
• Prepare complete and detailed bid packages for projects being handed off to production.
• At award time, present the project as a whole to the production team, highlighting all aspects of scope and logistics.

Qualifications: Construction Estimating: 5 years (Preferred). Metal Stud/Drywall Construction: 5 years (Preferred). College degree preferred, but not required with proof of job experience. Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required. Experience with Adobe preferred. Ability to read construction plans required. Ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time. Self‑directed with minimal supervision and well organized.
