PSS is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to contribute to our corporate growth and help maintain our position as an industry-leading authority. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in work plan development and progress oversight, as well as advanced problem-solving abilities. This role is expected to manage multiple projects across multiple client sites and to regularly prepare and present progress updates to executive management.
The project manager will plan, initiate, manage, and execute complete project life cycles for all assigned projects.
This full‑time salaried position will typically be performed Monday – Friday, 7 am – 4 pm at our corporate office in Manassas, VA. This position may require additional hours and weekend work during project kick‑off and compliance walkthroughs at project sites.
Minimum Requirements- Five (5) years of experience in general construction and at least two (2) years of experience with secure doors, frames, and hardware (DFH)
- Education:
High School Degree or higher - U.S. citizenship required
- Experience with Comsense software
- Familiarity with STC and RF principles
- Knowledge of ICD 705 requirements
- Establish and maintain processes to manage scope over the project lifecycle, setting project quality and performance standards, and assessing and managing risk within and across multiple projects
- Lead projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and project implementation plans, including risk mitigation
- Monitor and assign resources appropriately to streamline project efficiency and maximize deliverable outputs
- Analyze project progress and, when necessary, adapt scope, timelines, and costs to ensure that the project team adheres to project requirements
- Establish and maintain relationships with appropriate clients, providing day‑to‑day contact on project status and changes
- Collaborate with the internal business development team to accurately bid and estimate for future projects
- Assist executive management with corporate growth by creating and maintaining new clients
- Create and review submittals at project release promptly
- Use a strong background in doors, frames, and hardware (DFH) to troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise throughout the project
- Develop and maintain project‑tracking records, including change order logs, submittal logs, and budget change logs
- Adhere closely to the predetermined project schedule
- Attend regular meetings with Superintendents, Assistant Project Managers, and Accounting personnel to ensure the project’s successful completion
- Communicate effectively with clients and subcontractors responsible for completing various project phases, using construction software such as Procore, Helix, and Building Connected
- Monitor the progress of construction/installation activities and facilitate regular status meetings with all sub‑teams
- Maintain strict adherence to the budgetary guidelines, quality, and safety standards, including the overall management of field staff on the projects
- Conduct periodic inspections of construction sites weekly
